Creating Zimbra Personas (Identities)
Friday, September 12th, 2008Using Zimbra for your business, and want to be able to send mail from a domain other than your default domain? The Personas feature lets you send from any email address, and comes with other convenient options, such as automatically organizing mail received from other email addresses into separate directories/folders, and automatically responding to those messages with the matching Persona.
Personas (also known as mail identities) let you send “from” different email addresses while remaining logged into your Zimbra mailbox. When email is forwarded to your Zimbra account from another email address or when replying to messages from the Zimbra web client, Personas modify/mask the “From:” field when composing or replying to messages, so that your recipients receive your email from your chosen Persona, instead of your default email address.
